God blessed His leaders like Abraham, for example, and His people with position, land and wealth. Obviously doing well is something God gives to the faithful. So there is nothing wrong with working for wealth, six days shall you labor, in its proper perspective. We must seek first the Kingdom of God. How do we do that?

Prov. 2:2 Make your ear attentive to wisdom,
Incline your heart to understanding;

How do we hear wisdom and “incline heart to understanding?” Attitude and discernment.

Prov. 2:3 For if you cry for discernment,
Lift your voice for understanding;
Prov. 2:4 If you seek her as silver
And search for her as for hidden treasures;
Prov. 2:5 Then you will discern the fear of the LORD
And discover the knowledge of God.
Prov. 2:6 For the LORD gives wisdom;
From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Prov. 2:7 He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
He is a shield to those who walk in integrity,

Prov. 3:13 ¶ How blessed is the man who finds wisdom
And the man who gains understanding.
Prov. 3:14 For her profit is better than the profit of silver
And her gain better than fine gold.
