Only the greatest of heroes give up their lives for others, to save them. Jesus being the most prominent. We must be like him. How do we die for others, to save them? Rom. 6:4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. Rom. 6:6 knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; 1Pet. 4:2 so as to live the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for the lusts of men, but for the will of God. Eph. 4:22 that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, Col. 3:5 ¶ Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry. 2Pet. 1:4 For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust. 1John 2:6 the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked. When people act like Jesus, they give example and point others to repentance, to God and salvation.
