Just quoting the Bible does not work. Why is that?

Psa. 11:4 The LORD is in His holy temple; the LORD’S throne is in heaven;
His eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons of men.

Neh. 11:1 ¶ Now the leaders of the people lived in Jerusalem, but the rest of the people cast lots to bring one out of ten to live in Jerusalem, the holy city, while nine-tenths remained in the other cities.

Psa. 5:7 But as for me, by Your abundant lovingkindness I will enter Your house,
At Your holy temple I will bow in reverence for You.

Psa. 138:2 I will bow down toward Your holy temple
And give thanks to Your name for Your lovingkindness and Your truth;
For You have magnified Your word according to all Your name.

Eph. 2:21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord,

Matt. 4:5 ¶ Then the devil *took Him into the holy city and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple,

Psa. 91:1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
Psa. 91:2 I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress,
My God, in whom I trust!”

Matt. 4:6 and *said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down; for it is written,
‘HE WILL COMMAND HIS ANGELS CONCERNING YOU’; and
‘ON their HANDS THEY WILL BEAR YOU UP,
SO THAT YOU WILL NOT STRIKE YOUR FOOT AGAINST A STONE.’”

Jesus as God’s Son is close to God. He had the power to command the angels. Even if not, they would guard God’s adopted son. He could revel in his position, safety and protection. He could fly through the air with the angels holding him from the laws of gravity. What would be the greatness of his power as the Son of God?

Here he could prove that he is God’s Son.

Psa. 91:11 For He will give His angels charge concerning you,
To guard you in all your ways.
Psa. 91:12 They will bear you up in their hands,
That you do not strike your foot against a stone.

Ex. 17:2 Therefore the people quarreled with Moses and said, “Give us water that we may drink.” And Moses said to them, “Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test the LORD?”

Num. 14:22 “Surely all the men who have seen My glory and My signs which I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness, yet have put Me to the test these ten times and have not listened to My voice,

Psa. 17:4 As for the deeds of men, by the word of Your lips
I have kept from the paths of the violent.

Mal. 3:15 From now on we will call the arrogant blessed. For those who do evil get rich, and those who dare God to punish them suffer no harm.’”

Deut. 6:16 ¶ “You shall not put the LORD your God to the test, as you tested Him at Massah.

Matt. 4:7 Jesus said to him, “On the other hand, it is written, ‘YOU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST.’”
